DUPLEX RB, RC and RDH units are standardly equipped with a built-in digital module placed in a plastic box on outside surface of the unit.
A system can be controlled by:
- CP 05 RD series controller
- 0 - 10 V input from a building management system
The CP controller enables simple remote control of all unit operating modes. It must be connected to a room thermostat that controls operation of a heating equipment. The system provides comfort automatic switching through impulses from a bathroom or a kitchen.
Functions
The digital control module together with the CP controller and a programmable room thermostat provides the following functions:-
selection of a basic unit operating mode:
- equal-pressure ventilation with heat recovery
- circulation heating and ventilation with heat recovery
- circulation heating (occasional ventilation using an impuls from bathrooms or periodically using a timer setting)
- negative-pressure ventilation
- positive-pressure ventilation - summer
- supply and exhaust fan speed setting
- by-pass damper control (fresh air by-pass)
- heating mode setting
- indication of operating modes by green LEDs
- indication of dirty filters and error alarms by a red LED
- automatic control of a mixing damper
- automatic control of room air temperature with a weekly schedule and night setback - set by the weekly programmable temperature controller
- capilary freeze protection of the hot-water heating coil
- occasional ventilation switching using a bathroom or kitchen impuls with possibility of fan stop delay. (enables 24 V SELV connection, e.g. from a pool humidistat)
- STOP contact (e.g. to be interlocked with a supervisory equipment)
- possibility to connect additional thermostat (e.g. from a separate bathroom water heating system)
- boiler ON command (voltage-free contact max. 230 V/0,5 A)
- setting and limiting of max. air outlet temperature
- changing each fan performance setting (changing the tap wiring of a transformer)
- freeze protection to avoid condensate freezing on a heat exchanger (optional)
- output for automatic control of a ground exchanger damper; according to the outside air temperature (optional) )
- adjustable occasional ventilation ensuring space ventilation even when unoccupied

Inputs and outputs of the digital module
| input/output | recommended cable | function and application |
| D1, D2, D3 | 3 x CYKY 2D x 1,5 | input - occasional ventilation switching via 230 V impuls from a bathroom with possible fan stop delay |
| D4 | CYKY 2D x 1,5 | input - occasional ventilation switching via 230 V impuls from a kitchen (without fan stop delay with function against spread of odours) |
| D11 | SYKFY 2 x 2 x 0.5 | input - occasional ventilation switching via a contact (no stop delay) - e.g. from a pool humidistat |
| STP | SYKFY 2 x 2 x 0.5 | input - closing contact - enables to switch the unit OFF |
| TR2 | SYKFY 2 x 2 x 0.5 | input - optional 2nd room thermostat for a room heated by a hot-water heating circuit (e.g. Bathroom) |
| SR | CYKY 3D x 1,5 | output - control of ground exchanger damper or E1 shutoff damper |
| YV | CYKY 3C x 1,5 | output 230 V / 0,5 A - switching of a boiler or a warm-air heating circuit |
| K | CYKY 2A x 1,5 | free-voltage output contact - switching of a boiler |
| IN1, IN2, IN3 | 3 x SYKFY 2 x 2 x 0.5 | input - standard 0 - 10 V control signal from a BMS system (only without the CP 05 RD controller) |
| OC1, DA2 | SYKFY 2 x 2 x 0.5 | output - error and dirty filter alarm via standard 0 - 10 V signal |
Controls by a supervisory control system (e.g. BMS)
The built-in control module for the DUPLEX RB, RC, RD, RDH units enables to control by several 0 - 10 V analogue control signals. This control method is suitable for so called "inteligent buildings", where a centralized control system controls all the building equipment.
