ATREA manufactures whole range of unit ventilators with heat recovery. The following overview includes only the units suitable for ventilation, possibly warm-air heating of low energy and passive residential buildings.

DUPLEX 220, 220 BP, 360, 360 BP, 550 BP units

DUPLEX 220, 360, 550 units Application
Patented series of DUPLEX 220 (BP), 360 (BP) and 550 BP units is designed for comfort ventilation of all types of residential buildings, mainly for low-energy and passive family houses and high-rise residential buildings.

Design
In a casing made of white-painted sheet metal with polyurethane insulation (U = 0,95 Wm-2K-1) and without thermal bridges the unit contains a counterflow cross-flow plastic heat recovery core (basic efficiency of 89 %), two centrifugal fans, supply air G4 filter, return air prefilter, built-in bypass damper with an actuator (only BP types) and a junction box. Condensate drain is located according to a unit installation position. Round or oval connection ports are ready for connecting round flexible transitions without thermal bridges. An access door is fitted with quick locks.

Controls
The units are controlled by three external wall-mounted switches (not supplied):
  • off / on
  • low / high speed
  • summer / winter mode
Each unit standardly includes a safety freeze protection thermostat for a heat recovery core and a junction box. A unit can optionally be fitted with a time relay for max. speed switching by a kitchen or a bathroom contact.

Features of the DUPLEX 220, 220 BP, 360, 360 BP, 550 BP units
  • similar design as the DUPLEX EC, but with standard asynchronous fan motors
  • simple controls using standard switches enables to select low or high fan speed and summer / winter mode changeover
  • optionally supplied time relay enables to switch the unit e.g. by a bathroom switch with an adjustable delayed fan stop
  • built-in bypass damper with an actuator for 220 BP and 360 BP units

DUPLEX 230 EC, 330 EC, 500 EC units

The patented DUPLEX units of the EC series are designed for comfort ventilation of all types of residential buildings, mainly for low-energy and passive family houses and high-rise residential buildings.

Design

EC technology
The DUPLEX 230 EC, 330 EC and 500 EC units are equipped with fans with electronically controlled motors. This most advanced solution has many advantages comparing to standard fans:

  • Power input reduction by up to 60 % significantly supports the equipment operational economy
  • automatic control of constant airflow enables to reach precise airflow values even at variable conditions (e.g. during dirty filter condition or when closing some room air outlets)
  • wide fan speed range in 14 steps
Built-in controls
Digital control of the DUPLEX 230 EC, 330 EC and 500 EC units with a CP 01 controller provides a comfort unit remote control including display readout, weekly schedule, instant airflow setting in 14 steps, and alarm indication.

  • standardly built-in EC type fans are characterized by very low power intake and modulating speed control with constant airflow for equal-pressure space ventilation
  • higher unit air volume flow enables occasional intensive air exhaust or summer ventilation
  • excellent thermal insulation parameters of unit casing with total avoidance of thermal bridges
  • a built-in by-pass is a standard part of units and need no additional space
  • a standard digital control system enables comfort weekly schedule setting, connecting other inputs (e.g. IAQ or humidity sensor), and automatic by-pass damper control based on temperature
  • three possible installation positions (ceiling-suspended, wall-mounted, floor-standing) enables to install a unit in any house or apartment space
  • energy-optimized heat recovery exchanger reaches very economical ratio of used electric energy and air volume flow cost (w = 0,38 W/m3/h)
  • enegry efficiency reaches up to 17,0
  • small unit size enables installation even under bathroom or corridor ceiling
  • general-purpose design enables both left and right position installation

DUPLEX RK2

Units DUPLEX RK2 Application
DUPLEX RK2 units are intended for comfort ventilation with heat recovery as well as two-zone circulation hot-air heating. Units are particularly suitable for low-energy and passive family houses and flats.

Units may be fitted on request with a direct evaporator that allows the connection of all types of outdoor “air conditioning" units. The reverse operation of such outdoor units will make it possible to maintain the building at constant temperature during transitional periods (part of spring and autumn).

General description
The patented design ensures simultaneous primary circulation heating and ventilation in the living areas of the house and the secondary ventilation of the sanitary facilities and kitchen.

Heat from the air being extracted is utilized for pre-heating fresh air in the recovery exchanger, with perfect separation of extraction and circulation air.

When in ventilation mode and with the bypass function active, the unit, as first in its size class, simultaneously closes the heat recovery exchanger by opening this damper. In comparison with previous types, temperature influences on airs through the partial passage of the heat recovery exchanger therefore do not occur.

Units are made in a white finish (RAL 9001) and their thermal and acoustic insulation is made from sandwich panels from aluminium sheet metal and polyurethane 22 mm thick (coefficient U = 0,86 W/m2K).

The unit has a built-in circulation radial fan, a waste-air radial fan, a counter-flow recovery exchanger made of hPS plastic with efficiency of up to 90 %, a hot-water heater optimized for low-temperature heating systems, a circulation air filter with filtration class G4, pre-filters made of expanded metal mesh, circulation and by-pass dampers including servo drives and a control module. The connecting necks are ready for connecting flexible hoses with diameter between 160 and 250 mm. The opening doors provide access to all aggregates. Units are available in indoor version for a stationary position in two configurations.

Built-in control
DUPLEX RK2 units have an optional integrated digital module for the comfort control of all functions of the hot-air system. The entire system may be remote-controlled with a CP 05 RD – series controller or via central control system signals 0-10 V.

The product range of small unit ventilators was extended with the DUPLEX 540 ECV with max. airflow of 550 m3/h.
